BIOGRAPHY

Actor, director, translator. He was born in Athens, Greece in 1956. He graduated from Drama School in 1977. In 1986 he established his own theatre company the "Contemporary Theatre of Athens". In 1996 he founded a Drama School which operated under the supervision of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. In 1999 he was named Artistic Director of the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras. He was a member of the Greek Actors Union where he has previously served as vice president. He is also a member of the Greek Playwrights Guild.He has directed and played for the theatre played leading parts in and he has appeared in many films and TV series in Greek Television.  

AWARDS

1986  Award for the Best Actor in the Salonica Film Festival for the film URGE FOR LIFE, dir. by Pavlos Tasios.

1987  National Award of Best Actor in Cinema for the film LIVING DANGEROUSLY, dir. by N. Perakis.

1988  Critics' Award of Best Actor in Theatre for the play POOR MURDERER by P. Kohout,  dir. by N. Kourkoulos.

1999  First award of Best Actor in theatre for the period 1996-1998.

2010  Audience Choice Award for the play SLEUTH, dir. by G. Kimoulis & C. Markoulakis.

2018  Lifetime Achievement Award in New York City Greek Film Festival, at Friars Club.
